|
| Open house with free admission coincides with Free Ferry passage day. Big Bay State Park is on Madeline Island, the largest of Lake Superior's 22 Apostle Islands. The park, established in 1963, has picnic areas with tables, grills, water and toilets; a campground with drinking water, showers and toilets; an indoor camp for nonprofit groups; an outdoor group camp; and more than nine miles of trails, including interesting nature trails. The 2,350-acre park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Admission stickers are required for all motor vehicles.

| Join us for the 5h Annual Pedal, Paddle, Plod & Plunge (aka The P4) - Madeline Island's "quadrathon!" Individuals and teams welcome. The event includes an 11 mile bike ride, 4 mile paddle, 4 mile run and the finale is a plunge in Lake Superior for individuals and a 250 yard swim for teams. Start time is 9:30am at Joni's Beach. Fees are $20.00 per participant in advance and
$ 25.00 day of event. Registration includes t-shirt and post-race barbecue. Students receive a $5.00 discount. Registration is limited. |
